A combination of cantorial and Middle-Eastern motifs. The music, deeply rooted in tradition, offers listeners melodies and chants for immediate incorporation into their own community’s ritual observances and practices. The recording is a wonderful complement to Marcia Falk’s Book of Blessings for Daily Life (Harper San Francisco 1996), a seminal work that restructures Jewish liturgy in Hebrew and English from a non-hierarchical gender-inclusive perspective.
